Second Annual 9-11 Patriot Ride

September 11, 2003

Once again, CFE members' fire apparatus led the motorcycles in this annual ride Sponsored by Full Throttle Magazine to honor the fallen heroes of September 11, 2001. those participating and their starting points were: Mike Britt in his 1970 Crown and Don Pogue in the California Fire Museum's 1975 Ford/Pierece/Crown mini-pumper - from Orange County Harley Davidson in Irvine; The Bramms in their 1970 Seagrave - from Anaheim-Fullerton Harley Davidson in Fullerton, Hewy and Ruth Wick in their 1967 Mack Supertender - from Skip Fordyce Harley-Davidson in Riverside, Steve and Jim Koenekamp in Steve's 1969 Mack from - Glendale Harley-Davidson in Glendale, and Don Beckwith in his 1985 Chevy/Pierce/Crown mini-pumper - from Pomona Valley Harley-Davidson in Montclair. All the rides ended in Rancho Cucamonga at the historic J. Felipe Winery on Baseline Road, near the future site of the Freedom’s Flame Memorial. World Trade Center wreckage and the FDNY Mack Aerialscope from Ground Zero were on display and ceremonies included a bagpipe ceremony, speakers giving tributes to the fallen heroes. A BBQ lunch was served by firefighters from Montclair FD.
