Parade at the Los Angeles County Fair

September 18, 2003

CFE members were specially invited guests for a Parade Featuring Fire Apparatus at the L.A. County Fairplex in Pomona, CA, on September 18, 2003. Every night at 6 pm during the Los Angeles County Fair they have a parade that goes around the grounds and on this evening CFE apparatus were the main attraction of the parade. Rigs arrived early at the staging area, then entered the parade as a group along with bands and other parade participants. After the parade, the rigs were on display for all the fairgoers to view.

Fire rigs which participated were Loma Linda FD's 1930 Model A Ford, driven by Gene Brooks; Mike McDonald's 1956 Ford/Crown hose tender, ex-Vernon FD, driven by Ned Bixby; Doug and Emily Stoner and their 1959 International/Van Pelt; Ron Dierkens and his 1967 Crown; Randy Marsile and "Big John" a 1967 Crown; Mike Britt and his 1970 Crown; The Bramm family and their 1970 Seagrave; and don Beckwith with his 1985 Chevy/Pierce/Crown mini-pumper.
