Our regular CFE Meetings include a raffle of items related to our hobby. We've had everything from patches and ball caps to a surplus fire hydrant in the raffle. If you have items you can donate to the raffle, just bring them).

September 8th (Friday) – Fire Engine Night at Cruisin’ Grand (Escondido, CA)
The official Cruisin' Grand cruise loop runs down Grand Avenue and back up Second Avenue, 5:00 - 9:00 P.M.  Staging should be about 5:00 at Broadway and Second Avenue.  The flag raising ceremony will begin at 6:00 and the Code 3 Parade down Broadway will begin at 6:30.  Broadway will be closed on both sides of Grand Avenue for static display of modern and classic fire equipment.  Open cruise along Grand Avenue.  Pre-1974 American made classic, vintage hot-rods, custom cars and trucks.  Participants and visitors are welcome!  Art Galleries, Antique Shops and Restaurants are open.  Live DJs playing 50's music.  Last year’s event included many in-service Escondido units and a Code 3 Parade down Grand Avenue.  Several thousand people attend this event in Escondido on Friday nights to see several hundred classic vehicles on display.  Presented by the Escondido Firefighters Association.  Visit https://cruisingrand.com/events/view/2017-09-08/09-08-2017-week-24-fire-truck-night for more information.
September 9th (Saturday) – CFE Board and General Meeting (Valley Center, CA)

Beginning at 9:30 A.M. at the Valley Center Branch Library, 29200 Cole Grade Road, Valley Center, CA 92082.  The business meeting will include nominations for all five Officers of the Board.  After the meeting, we will take the Crown Firecoach Bus to lunch then return to the History Museum for a tour.  In addition, there will local area Agency and Reservation Fire apparatus either coming there or staging at a station close by for photos.  As a reminder, please bring items for the raffle.  For more information, please contact Don Beckwith at 909 936-0818 (cell) or ARFFCoach@msn.com.  Note: Friday, September 8th is Escondido Fire & Police Department’s Annual “Cruisin’ Grand Fire Truck Night” remembering the tragic events of 9-11 (see the previous calendar item).

September 17th (Saturday) – 15th Annual Sacramento Area Fire Equipment and Memorabilia Swap Meet (Sacramento, CA)
8 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Sacramento Metro Fire Station 21 Drill Grounds, 7641 Greenback Lane, Citrus Heights, CA. Largest Firematic swapmeet on the west coast. Admission free, selling spaces free. September 23rd (Saturday) – 18th Annual Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show (Costa Mesa, CA)

Held at the Orange County Fairgrounds *** The 2017 CFE Brian Dierkens Memorial Award will be presented at 11:45 am on the Pacific Amphitheater Stage at the Orange County Fairgrounds during the Crusin’ For a Cure Event. Read about this $500 scholarship here. *** Public show hours are 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.  Rigs need to arrive by 7:00 A.M. The world’s largest one-day charity car show for finding a cure for prostate cancer.  Over 3,500 vehicles on display and over 200 vendors and exhibitors, featuring hot rods, classics, trucks, etc.  There will be spaces for fire apparatus and there will also be a flag raising ceremony with CFE fire apparatus at the start of the event.  Cruising all day.  All proceeds to benefit KSK Cancer Center of Irvine.  Contact Mark Bramm at 714-956-4642 or MarkBramm@aol.com if you can display your rig.  Please visit http://www.cruisinforacure.com for more information.
November 4th (Saturday) – American Heroes Air Show (Lake View Terrace, CA)
9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Hansen Dam Sports Complex, 1170 Foothill Blvd., Pacoima, California 91331.  Helicopter displays and demonstrations by local, county and state law enforcement and fire departments, as well as federal agencies such as U.S. Border Patrol and the U.S. military.  Fire apparatus display.  For more information, please contact Jim Paules at 818-631-8132 or Jim@heroes-airshow.com, or visit http://www.heroes-airshow.com.
