Our regular CFE Meetings include a raffle of items related to our hobby. We've had everything from patches and ball caps to a surplus fire hydrant in the raffle. If you have items you can donate to the raffle, just bring them).
 
November 4th (Saturday) – American Heroes Air Show (Lake View Terrace, CA)
9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Hansen Dam Sports Complex, 1170 Foothill Blvd., Pacoima, California 91331.  Helicopter displays and demonstrations by local, county and state law enforcement and fire departments, as well as federal agencies such as U.S. Border Patrol and the U.S. military.  Fire apparatus display.  For more information, please contact Jim Paules at 818-631-8132 or Jim@heroes-airshow.com, or visit http://www.heroes-airshow.com.
 
November 11th (Saturday)– CFE Board and General Meeting (San Pedro, CA)
Beginning at 9:30 A.M. at the Historic Fireboat Ralph J. Scott (dry docked), Harbor Blvd. at 1st Street, San Pedro, CA. Business meeting includes the election of officers. Special tour of the Ralph J. Scott immediately following. Lunch on your own.

Directions from the north - take the I-110 South to CA-47 N/Seaside Fwy in Los Angeles. Take exit 1A for CA-47 toward Vincent Thomas Bridge/Terminal Island/Long Beach, exit Harbor Blvd, go south to 1st Street and turn left.

Directions from the south - (from 405 freeway from Orange County) take I-710 South to Exit 1b and Pico Avenue. Use the right lane to take the ramp onto Seaside Freeway. Follow Seaside freeway over the VIncent Thomas Bridge to exit 1C, Harbor Blvd. Go south to 1st Street and turn left.

PARKING CHOICES:

1) Best and closest choice is the PAY parking lot for World Cruise Terminal and USS Iowa Parking (Berths 91-93). Enter from 1st street and Harbor Blvd, east side, San Pedro, CA. Follow the signs around to parking lot entrance and then park all the way south near the big white tent housing the Ralph J. Scott. This is also the parking lot for the Battleship IOWA Museum (tours daily from 10-4) and the World Cruise Terminal. The first two hours are $2, each additional hour is $2 with a maximum of $18 per day.

2) FREE parking is available at the CALTRANS park & ride lot located at 401 N. Beacon Street, at the northwest corner of W. O’Farrell St. San Pedro. This is a 6 block walk to the Ralph J. Scott tent (1 block east to S. Harbor Blvd. and 4 blocks south to 1st street, then a short walk to A street (the perimeter road around the pay parking lot) and 2 more blocks south to the Ralph J. Scott. (You CANNOT enter the Ralph J. Scott tent from Harbor Blvd, it is fenced due to the railroad tracks, so make sure to enter from 1st to A street).

3) Street Parking. There is no parking on the east side of Harbor Blvd. and limited free street parking (which will be full on weekends) on the west side. There is metered street parking several blocks to the south.

Also nearby is the Los Angeles Harbor Fire Museum at old Station 36 (Open Saturdays 10-3), 639 S Harbor Blvd, San Pedro, CA 90731. (Metered Parking on the Street). Also close by: the USS Iowa, the Los Angeles Maritime Museum (adjacent to LAFD FS 112) or Port O’ Call Village.

ovember 18th (Saturday) – Annual Guns and Hoses Car Show (Ontario, CA)
Show hours are 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.  Ontario Police Department, 2500 S. Archibald Avenue, Ontario, CA  91761.  The Ontario Rotary Police Museum presents the Guns and Hoses Car Show featuring Police and Fire vehicles from departments and private owners.  Open to police and fire vehicles, all years of cars and trucks, antiques, street rods, muscle cars, classics and special interest vehicles.  The car show benefits the Ontario Rotary Police Museum.  From the 60 Freeway, take the Archibald exit and go south.  Just south of the freeway will be a right turn into the driveway for the Ontario Police Department parking lot.

September 22nd, 2018 (Saturday) – 19th Annual Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show (Costa Mesa, CA)
Public show hours are 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.  Rigs need to arrive by 7:00 A.M.  Orange County Fairgrounds.  The world’s largest one-day charity car show for finding a cure for prostate cancer.  Over 3,500 vehicles on display and over 200 vendors and exhibitors, featuring hot rods, classics, trucks, etc.  There will be spaces for fire apparatus and there will also be a flag raising ceremony with CFE fire apparatus at the start of the event.  Cruising all day.  All proceeds to benefit KSK Cancer Center of Irvine.  CFE will also present the Brian Dierkens Memorial Award at this event.  Contact Mark Bramm at 714-956-4642 or MarkBramm@aol.com if you can display your rig.  Please visit http://www.cruisinforacure.com for more information.
